Homestop decided to launch their new store in Hyderabad’s Kukatpally area. The location chosen for the store was a premises shared with Shoppers Stop on the first floor at Manjeera mall. Shoppers Stop comprised of two split levels – Ground floor & First Floor. A 10,000 sq.ft. area was carved out on the first floor for Homestop to develop their new store.

The design intent was to create an upmarket, premium Home store which enhances the Homestop brand. The challenge was to generate adequate footfalls from the existing Shoppers Stop store and also attract independent customers from first floor.

The key elements of the store design were:

• To create a very vibrant and enticing store and show window to ensure maximum client footfalls.
• To create very prominent department categories in the store.
• Smooth transition between the respective department categories.
• Effective use of graphics and visual merchandise by weaving it into the store design.
• Effective lighting techniques with accent lights to highlight prominent features.
